Experiencing Affordable Luxury at D’ Hotel and Suites

Experiencing Affordable Luxury at D’ Hotel and Suites

It was my first time visiting Zamboanga del Norte in Mindanao and I chose Dipolog City as the first place to visit in the province. Being in an unfamiliar territory often leaves me a bit nervous so choosing a nice place to stay in was one of my priorities.

Upon learning of D’Hotel and Suites, I knew it will be where we will be spending our one-night stay in the city. Yes, it was rather short but it came out more comfortable than we expected.

We gladly took advantage of the complimentary airport shuttle. The weather upon our arrival was hot and the van’s cool temperature helped us to settle down. The ride was quick, just under ten minutes.

The Hotel
The hotel was in a very good location and for me it is the property’s biggest advantage. It was smacked right at the heart of Dipolog City, along Rizal Avenue, within walking distance from about everything. One thing we noticed was that the hotel staff were very courteous – armed with a smile and a warm greeting. The hotel was tastefully designed and lights up even lovelier at night.

The classy D’hotel and Suites at night. D’hotel and Suites is a classy hotel smacked right at the heart of Rizal Ave in Dipolog City. A perfect choice of lodging for Dipolog first-timers, it is just within walking distance from the city’s attractions like the Holy Rosary Cathedral, Dipolog City Hall and the Sunset Blvd. #dhotelandsuites #dipolog #zamboangadelnorte #ponderingpaodaolei #themermaidwanders

After a swift check-in and a delicious welcome drink, we were provided with our room key on the second floor. We stayed in a Twin Bedroom with Ensuite Bathroom. There was a cable TV, complimentary coffee and bottled water. Though I was a little bit disappointed because there was no mini-fridge. A cold ice drink would really have been great then.

Dining
The hotel has several dining options. Our plated complimentary breakfast was served at Tonino’s Restaurant located at the ground floor. For those craving Italian flair, Cucina Italiana is just across the side street while those who love to have a relaxing night can go up the sixth floor at the Umami Room & Olive Tree Bar.

Tonino’s Restaurant reminds me of some upscale restaurants in Manila. They have a wine shop and a bakeshop too. They bake their own goods (courtesy of their Pastry Chef)! We bought the 5-piece mini cupcake box for a very cheap price of Php 50 pesos.

About to have a very chic breakfast at Tonino’s Restaurant at D’hotel and Suites, Dipolog. 😉 #toninos #dhotelandsuites #ponderingpaodaolei #themermaidwanders

Given the other places we visited, we were unable to dine in Cucina Italiana and hang out in Umami Room & Olive Tree Bar. Surely, a 24-hour stay is not enough to experience it all. But with Dipolog City’s small town charm, I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again. Seat sale here I come!
