Move Forward and Never Be Still

Balai Sadyaya’s Welcoming Respite

Balai Sadyaya’s Welcoming Respite
Fresh from my Palawan adventure a couple of weeks before, I found myself on the road again. This time, my feet led me to the old town called Sariaya in Quezon. I was missing El Nido that I had wanted a second dose of a short-vacation in a marine environment without going to the beach. Aided with a little research, I discovered this charming resort right at the outskirts of Sariaya town proper.

Me and two of my relatives arrived here before noon. I approached the reception to check-in but our room was not yet ready. The previous guests were still preparing to leave. While waiting, I roamed around a bit and found the resort to be even more pleasant in the eyes live. The grounds are colorful, alive but had a relaxing and quiet atmosphere at the same time. A haven in itself, I found it very charming.

After sometime, I was called and we were led to our room for three. It was located at the far end but in a quiet location overlooking the road outside. It was cute and comfy with a little terrace surrounding it. We were assigned to stay at Casita 1.

The resort has a sumptuous menu where guests can choose from. The in-house chef personally cooks these meals. I was able to chat a bit with kuya (i forgot his name.  Me and my companions were all praises on his cooking. Meals are cooked and served fresh. You can enjoy them either at the laid-back restaurant in the building or at the cottages with nice views of the pool, serenaded by humming birds.

It was noon time and I did not have any plans of adding more sun burn to my still-Palawan-damaged skin. I did not even bring a pair of swimwear! Upon seeing the inviting pool, though, all plans to save on this trip and to no-swim at all flew out of the window. Good thing there was a souvenirs shop at the hotel reception and a two-piece swimsuit was calling my name. It was the only one remaining and when I tried it on, it fit me well. It seemed it had been waiting for me all along. 🙂

Since it was so hot and we were tired from our two-hour trip, we unanimously decided to enjoy the pool at night. Yes, they allow night swimming. It was the solution to my earlier sunburn-worries. We stole a quick nap before exploring Sariaya town proper later that afternoon.

Of course, it’s Pondering posing here!

As of posting time, I am much fairer now. 😉

We woke up to a clear, beautiful morning the following day. The weather was just so perfect I was nearly tempted to dive in the pool once again. We were there for less than 24 hours but it felt that time had stopped. My visit here was one of the most enjoyable short-trips I had this year. Though not in the backpacker’s range, I think once in while we deserve this kind of vacation. Splurge a little specially if it is for your family.

The hotel is about 1 km from the Sariaya town proper. It is located at Kamagong road, Brgy.
