A Welcoming Stay at White Coral Hotel

A Welcoming Stay at White Coral Hotel

After a year and a half, I was back in the loving arms of Boracay Island. I missed it very much that I wanted our choice of lodging to be near the beach. Last year, we stayed in a hotel near the main road which wasn’t so bad given that the island is small and White Beach was just a mere five-minute walk away.

I was looking for a quiet hotel near the waters but I wanted it a little far from the crowded area. After a few weeks of hotel-hunting, I discovered White Coral Hotel which was conveniently located in Station 1, near the famous Jonah’s Fruitshake &
Restaurant via a beach access, hiding behind the more expensive resorts in the area.

Since it was a new hotel, I had to rely on the hotel’s instructions via text and Google maps in quickly finding its location. I had visited Boracay many times but it was my first time time stay in a non-beach front property. I have google maps opened while en route to make sure we won’t get lost. However, our trike passed by the landmark given to us but the hotel was still nowhere in sight. We alighted after I felt we already passed by the area and sure enough, the hotel was on the other side of street where we came from.

While searching for their location, I called the three mobile numbers I used to communicate with the hotel to get further instructions but all just kept on ringing. We asked a local and were given directions. Upon arriving at the front desk, a smiling staff named EJ, welcomed us and apologized for having not answered my calls. He said they were having a meeting or something (I forgot, it was lunch time so I assumed they were eating). I really didn’t mind that our call was not answered since we found the hotel anyway but other guests might not find that a good idea as it is always better to maintain an open line of communication at all times of the day.

However, EJ was more than courteous and even assisted us in carrying our luggage to our room. I thanked him for his assistance and reminded us to just tell him anything we might need. We were assigned to stay on the second floor with a street view. It was big and has a spacious veranda! We could just open the sliding door and let the air come in. No need to open the air-conditioning!

Our room was good for three persons. A cabinet kept our things tidy and charging our gadgets were not a problem as electric sockets were not minimal. It also has a mini-ref and electric kettle. A cable TV kept us entertained at night. Our beddings were soft and clean but we had to turn the air-con low when it rained as our blankets were not thick enough to keep us warm. We blame it on storm Helen!

Complimentary breakfast was not included in our reservation but that was not a major concern as the hotel was just walking distance to restaurants, carinderias and snack bars. Sari-sari stores can also be found in the street where the hotel is located where you can buy fruits, beach necessities and other things you might need.

If I had the power, I will transplant it to become a beach front hotel as the property is gorgeous. I wouldn’t mind booking another vacation at White Coral Hotel. Next time I will make sure to stay longer.
