Coming Home at Tahanan ni Aling Meding

Coming Home at Tahanan ni Aling Meding

Coinciding with my visit to Liliw’s Tsinelas Festival, I have decided to visit this grand home once more which is  right in front of Sampaloc Lake in San Pablo City, Laguna. It is never boring to wake up here with a clear view of Mt. Cristobal.

I have been here several times already but I never find it tiring to come back here every chance my budget allows me. Tahahan ni Aling Meding is actually a private mansion turned to hotel by the Borja family of San Pablo. It is their tribute to their parents and where their family occasions are spent when relatives come in from the United States.

Perfect for the large Borja family, which actually consists of 11 siblings, this hotel is also ideal for families or small groups looking for tranquil scenery just a few hours away from the city. Priced at a very reasonable rate, the hotel offers complimentary breakfast, free Wi-Fi and use of the swimming pool.

The Tahanan stands tall and gives a commanding view of the lake and its surrounding area with a magnificent view of Mt. Cristobal. On a clear, summer day, one can ‘almost’ reach out touch it.

The hotel is also a perfect venue for small weddings and events like baptism and corporate gatherings. The facade of the mansion is very lovely which is commendable for engagement sessions. The hotel is a bit angled and was built on top of a small hill. I do find it picturesque.

Whenever I go to San Pablo City to unwind, Tahanan ni Aling Meding is always one of my
choices in lodging. Though can be considered a mid-range hotel, I do not mind since the facilities, staff and the ambience of the place makes me always feel as if I am coming home.  Coming home to Tahanan ni Aling Meding, that is.
