It was me and my mom’s birthday month last October. And I thought that there was no better way to celebrate her natal day than giving her a weekend just to have fun, relax and unwind. There was only one place that came up in my mind when I was planning this getaway. I prayed that we will be able to successfully book a stay in Microtel by Wyndham South Forbes. It was not only near our home but the surroundings where it was located was the major deciding factor. I thank God that my prayer was answered. My parents were also relieved to be staying in a familiar territory.
It was our first time to stay here for two nights. There were other nice hotels in Sta. Rosa but this hotel came number one in my list as it is nestled in between exclusive villages in South Forbes, Silang, Cavite. That means peace and solitude. There were no loud cars honking or racing motorcycles plying the main street leading to the hotel at any time of the day. Staying here was actually like moving into a big home for a couple days. And the large homes of the nearby subdivisions were our temporary neighbors.

Our Room
We were given a 2 Queen Beds room to stay in upon our arrival which was big enough for four persons. Our room overlooked the street below and the large window gives a generous view of the skies above which would be perfect for stargazing acitivities on clear nights.
I recall as my mom commented how nice our accommodation was. Our room had a warm ambience with the just the right amount of decorations and earthly tones. It also had a mini fridge where you can stack up any food you will bring from the outside. A water dispenser and ice maker is available for hotel guests to use situated strategically at the lobby of each.
It was not surprising to find parked bicycles right outside the hotel. The surrounding area is very pleasant for doing outdoor activities like strolling and biking in the mornings and in the late afternoons. The tall trees lining up the road can serve as protective shade from the heat of the sun while the cool air coming from the highlands can make you feel refreshed.
While the property may feel to be a little isolated for some, you can definitely take advantage of the complimentary hotel shuttle to nearby commercial centers, just take note of the schedule posted near the reception.
The surroundings of Microtel South Forbes are very good for biking, specially in the early mornings and in the afternoons. The roads are covered by tall trees and the air from the highlands will keep you cool. For those who love to eat, there is the Umenoya Restaurant which serves buffet breakfast from 6 AM to 10 AM, lunch from 11 PM to 2:30 PM and dinner from 5:30 PM tacho 10 PM. Non-guests are welcome to dine in here too. The restaurant’s specialty is Japanese cuisine.
Our stay at Microtel by Wyndham South Forbes definitely made my parents happy, specially my mom since it was her birthday weekend. The staff were courteous and the place was a great venue for the intimate gathering I planned. After all, we were not really looking for an opulent setting but more of a quiet place near enough to commune with nature and bond with family.
