Pamper Time at San Rafael River Adventure

Pamper Time at San Rafael River Adventure

Who would’ve known that a place like this exists in nearby San Rafael, Bulacan? Relatively new at two years, San Rafael River Adventure perfectly combines a soothing stay with adventurous activities which I and some of my friends enjoyed to the fullest when we stayed here for two nights one November weekend.

We were supposed to arrive early Saturday evening. Travel time to the resort is roughly just two hours from
Manila but the unexpected travel time (there was some road constructions going on in either the town of Plaridel or Sta. Rita that time) of nearly four hours caused us to arrive at the resort at 12 midnight! We were all so tired and hungry that we just wanted to drop our bags and rest. We thought that we will all sleep with our stomachs empty but the resort was kind enough to have waited for us and still served delicious dinner at twelve…midnight!

Resort Grounds
Our friend Karl said that this is his favorite Bulacan resort. And I understood why when we finally saw the resort grounds the following morning. Well, it wasn’t surprising because just seeing the resort’s attractive photos online were enough for me to want to pack my bags and go there at once.

As a nature lover, I was in awe of the surrounding foliage. Trees with lush canopies and flowering shrubs surround us everywhere. In between, we discovered huge cages housing animals. We later found out from one of the kind owners that most animals seen in the resort grounds have either been rescued or given to them.

This lone gal kept looking at herself!

I greeted each animal and found out the younger monkey was very friendly while the older one was very cautious of people. There were a couple of lazy civet cats and birds of prey too while the fowls cackled and quacked as they freely roamed around. I found a number of adorable puspins (domestic cats) too. We fed them leftovers which they readily ate. They were not harmful at all! I guess animal lovers will have a great time bonding with the rescued animals here.

Activities
San Rafael River Adventure currently offers a variety of activities for their guests. There is the relaxing river cruise, the blood-pumping obstacle course, the bumpy and exciting ATV ride and different water activities like kayaking, paddle-boarding and my most favorite which is jet-skiing. Bikes are also available for rent. Other activities include horseback-riding, boating and banana boat ride.

Kayaking

It’s the times we’re so crazy, that people think we’re high. It’s the times we laugh so hard, we can’t help but cry. It’s all the inside jokes and “remember whens”. those are all the reasons that we’re best friends! – Unknown #sanrafaelriveradventure #ponderingpaodaolei #themermaidwanders #kayak #marxtermind #marxtermindtravels

Accommodations
Currently, the resort has two main types of accommodations called Glass Cottage and Glass Villa. The Glass Cottages are scattered on the main resort grounds while the Glass Villa overlooks the Angat River. My friends and I stayed in two stand alone cottages – one for the boys and the other for us girls.

Once in a while, in the middle of an ordinary life, L❤ve gives us a fairytale. Take care of it, be grateful for it, relish it and pray for it to last. 🙂 😗😘 #PonderingPaodaolei #TheMermaidWanders #Ponderings #woogoph

I liked the setup of the Glass Cottages as they were far apart from each other. We felt we were alone in the resort because we couldn’t see or hear the other guests unless they pass by in front of our accommodation. Our late night talk sessions were very private and we didn’t worry of disturbing the other guests when our laughs sometimes became too loud. The distance between the cottages were enough to drown out our voices.

This lovely shaded pool overlooks the gentle Angat River. Perfectly laid out, it actually looks like a huge infinity pool! 😍 I miss swimming here with my favorite travel companion and travel buddies! The resort also offers Glamping Packages for guests wanting to experience a more laidback setting. The tents were set-up in a different area, running along the side of the riverbank.

A romantic getaway! Glamping by the river. #sigh

Facilities
The resort’s spacious grounds are very suitable for intimate gatherings like weddings. I couldn’t help but imagine holding my garden wedding here during our stay. The resort is not only very romantic but also a perfect place for personal reflection.

Green and rustic. San Rafael River Adventure is no longer a secret haven. ❤ @sanrafaelriveradventure #srra #srraph #bulacanresort #sanrafaelriveradventure #ponderingpaodaolei #themermaidwanders #bulacan #sanrafael #choosephilippines

There is the lovely pool at the edge of the property, overlooking Angat River. Hammocks and chairs were placed underneath the trees, ideal for catching on sleep, gossiping with friends or practicing your mastery of Chess.

Food
Presently, the resort offers limited food choices from their menu where rice meals is a staple. But the servings are quite hefty, fueling you with the much needed energy for any activities you plan on doing throughout your day.
And we were so full!

It was easy falling in love with this resort. My friends and I had a totally great time. Two nights were long enough for us to savor the place but too short to make more memories. Trying out the different activities is a must as simply lounging in your cottage would make time seem to move so slow.

The resort is lovelier at night
