The Breathtaking Gigantes Group of Islands

The Breathtaking Gigantes Group of Islands

I had long wanted to visit this part of the province upon hearing how captivating the islas were. I have quite high standards when it comes to ‘beautiful islands’ as our country have thousands of such. For me, when I say gorgeous, the islands of Palawan or Batanes immediately become the standards of comparison. And to my awe and surprise, the Gigantes Group of Islands can live up to that expectation.

Pulupandan Islet
We started our an hour and a half boat tour at mid-morning, arriving at Pulupandan Islet. The islet is mostly flat with a few outcrops. Guests enjoy a few moments here taking photos or just wading in the cool waters. However, since there was no foliage, it can get uncomfortable when the sun is high up.

Isla Gigantes Sur
Our next stop was where my breathe was literally taken away. Tanke Lagoon was more than my heart could take! As our boat approached Isla Gigantes Sur, its towering, sculpted walls reminded me of El Nido! But going inside made me fall in love with it even more. <3

Cabugao Gamay
This is by far the most famous and one of the most beautiful among the islands. This is where visitors climb up the rockies at the other end of the isla to take an ‘aerial’ shot of the whole island. A sweeping view of the the nearby islands and the Visayan Sea can be seen from the top.

It was more beautiful than I expected. 🙂 #gigantes #LasIslasTravelAndTours #themermaidtravels #AirAsiaInIloilo @airasiafilipino @lasislastravelandtours @lasislastravelandtoursph

Antonia Island
Here was where we had our lunch. We had seafoods once more and nothing was more appropriate than eating a hefty lunch with the emerald seas around you. The sound of waves crashing on the shore were enough to lull us to sleep. Too bad that we only had an hour or so at this lovely isla.

Our whole day tour to the islands beautifully punctuated our Panay Loop Adventure. It is a definite alternative to the more popular beach destinations in the country. It is stunning, breathtaking and absolutely refreshing. I will absolutely go back here. 🙂
