Coming from Korea and Boracay the past few weeks, I felt that I needed to have some downtime to relax and get some serious writing done. Makati has always been a good option for a staycation since its near everything – malls, movie houses, restaurants and other places of interests.
Since I like going to the mall, choosing to stay in one of Alcoves’s Studio Room near Greenbelt Makati was a better choice for me. Not only was it pocket-friendly but I also find it a practical place to stay. It may have not have the other luxuries of a full-serviced hotel, but the homey feel of a rented apartment is enough to have a comfortable stay.
Alcoves Philippines is not the usual hotel where its rooms are located in one buildings. Its apartments are scattered in different areas in the city. The room I stayed in last November was situated in Radisson building near Greenbelt 1. I was glad that this was what given to me since it was just within walking distance to just about everything.
Check-in was swift. All I had to do was present an ID and state my booking to the guards on duty. There was no need for a key or room card since Alcoves sends you a unique code via email upon confirmation of your reservation. The room is secured via an electronic key pad.
However, I was unable to get in my room immediately upon several attempts. I guess the code got expired or something. After making sure that what was I typing in was really correct, I contacted Alcoves to relay my problem via SMS. They sent me a temporary one right away. What I like about the Alcoves team was that they are prompt in answering all our correspondences. What they say are true, they are glued to their devices. 😀
